Dr. Jonathan P. Wilmot is a native of Rochester. Attending the University of Rochester he earned a bachelor of arts in Biology. He received his medical degree and completed Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Wilmot then trained at the University of Connecticut Medical School completing his Gastroenterology-Hepatology Fellowship.
Dr. Wilmot’s gastroenterology interests include gastro-esophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer screening, and liver disease with training in both pre and post liver transplant patients.
Dr. Wilmot enjoys traveling, golf and ice hockey.

Dr. Wilmot always explains all he will do and what he found during the procedure. All of his nursing staff are pleasant and accommodating.
Dr. Wilmot is very pleasant, knows me by sight. He obviously goes over my care plan with both nurses before my appointment because he has minutiae of my health at his fingertips. GGR is a lovely practice where I feel welcomed and taken care of the moment that I open enter the door. If i could give more stars, I would.

Definitely not my favorite thing to do however, every time I’ve gone for a colonoscopy, I’ve been made to feel comfortable, I’ve been informed, and made to feel cared for as a patient. Highly recommend Dr. Wilmot and although I don’t really want to see him often if I had to choose, I would choose him again.
My first appointment with Dr Wilmot was over telehealth and I felt very comfortable with him and felt heard and cared about. I previously have not had great GI docs and I can tell that Dr Wilmot will be a better doctor for my health condition.

I strongly suspect that Dr. Wilmot is, step-by-step, saving my life. Colon cancer is a big killer, but not if, in your old age, you have a guardian like Dr. Wilmot to head off the attacks. I've had three colonoscopies in the last year. And I am now on a one-year cycle, as Dr. Wilmot keeps mowing down (literally) polyps.
Dr Wilmot and all of the staff provide excellent care! Everyone from the check-in desk to Dr. Wilmot are warm and understanding.
