Dr. Bushra G. Fazili received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and her medical degree from Upstate University in Syracuse, New York. She trained as a resident and Chief Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Rochester School of Medicine. She also received her GI Fellowship from the University of Rochester and is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist.
Dr. Fazili has received many honors and awards including the Milton S. Lauria Award (an award given to young residents), an Honors College Scholarship, and the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Fellow Award.
Dr. Fazili’s gastroenterology interests include colorectal cancer screening, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease and diseases of the liver.
Dr. Fazili is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Fazili enjoys traveling with her husband and three children.

Kind, on time, answered all- ALL- my questions. Staff equally kind and respectful. Plus, the assigned cubicle for pre and post procedure was warm. Oh- and gal who started the IV site was gentle and quick.
Dr Fazili made sure to catch up with how I was doing and made a plan for the next 6 months. She explained everything in great detail and made sure I understood our plan.

A friend referred me to Dr. Fazili. I was very impressed with all of the office staff, and Dr. Fazili was just wonderful. She listened to all of my concerns and answered my questions in a caring manner. It is good to have a doctor who doesn’t rush through an appointment. I highly recommend her if you need to see a gastroenterologist.
Update: Unfortunately, my colonoscopy did not go as well as it should have. I told the nurse twice right before the procedure that I get nauseous from anesthesia and would they please be sure to let the doctor know. I was too loopy right before and after the procedure to follow up on this. Nothing was prescribed or given to me, and I spent hours vomiting after I arrived home. Yes, I should have called and let them know immediately, but kept hoping the feeling would pass. The moral of the story is MAKE SURE to let the DOCTOR know of any concerns, in case the nurse you get does not care enough to listen.

I transferred to Dr. Fazili after a long period of time with another GI doctor who did not listen. Dr. Fazili is an amazing doctor. She is so thorough and really cares about you as a person. She has excellent staff as well. This past year I have had a tough time and required a different medication regimen and care coordination with another practice. She and her staff kept me informed and have continually checked in on my progress. Excellent doctor and excellent person.

Dr. Fazili is very professional but friendly and answers questions readily. The procedure was done quickly and with no issues and feedback was given right afterwards as to the results.
If you have to have a colonoscopy, this is the place to go. The staff was wonderful (esp Breanna) and Dr. Fazili really put me at ease. I came away feeling really positive. (Was it the meds?)
